Typically rough in texture, the turtlebacks are an exquisite focal point, many are iridized. Traditionally green, today's tiles come in many colors; red, purple, blue and gold and, of course, green.

Antique Tiffany style lamps were constructed of dense opalescent stained glass which masks the light source and shows color by reflected light when the light is turned on.
