Among the more popular Tiffany style lamps is the world-renowned
dragonfly design. As per "The Lamps of Tiffany" by
Dr. Neustadt, "... this shade provides the craftsman with
unusual opportunities to show his skill and imagination. The
insect itself can be endowed with varicolored bodies, eyes and
wings. Then, since the shade was described by the Tiffany studios
as "Dragonfly and Water Design," he is free to create
any sort of stream or pond he prefers along with every kind of
atmosphere in which the insect flies. The mood may range from
sunny peace to sad foreboding."
This lamp is futher enhanced by use of jewels for
the dragonfly eyes and jewels in the background to add to the
sparkle of water. Jewel sets are sold separately by H. L. Worden
Co. Patterns to cut out flat stained glass jewels are included.
